ValueNest helps Canadian shoppers compare current Amazon.ca listings using transparent pricing and review data. We do not physically test products and we do not claim hands-on experience.
What the Trust Score means
The Trust Score is a 100-point ranking aid calculated only from stored listing data. Up to 45 points come from the star rating, up to 30 from review volume on a logarithmic scale, up to 20 from the product’s brand tier, and 5 from having a comparable list price and discount (3 points when only a current price is available). It is not a laboratory score, safety certification, or guarantee of product quality.
Brand tiers and entry gates
Established brands in a product category may enter consideration at 3.8/5 with at least 100 ratings. Tier 2 or unrecognized brands must reach 4.3/5 with at least 250 ratings. The absolute floor is 3.5/5 for every brand. Brand tier affects eligibility and the score, but price, rating volume, and product relevance still determine the final order.
Where the data comes from
Discovery and product-detail data come from Amazon.ca through Canopy API. The pipeline maps current price, list price, discount, rating, ratings count, image, and available specifications into a shared format. Amazon.ca is the final source at checkout.
How pages are refreshed
Deal discovery is run in deliberate batches while automation remains gated. Each published card or roundup shows a price-checked date. Prices, stock, shipping, coupons, and deal eligibility can change between checks, so readers should confirm the final Amazon.ca listing before ordering.
What ValueNest does not do
- We do not buy or physically test every product.
- We do not guarantee seller performance, shipping, safety, or suitability.
- We do not treat a large discount alone as proof of quality.
- We do not hide the affiliate relationship: ValueNest may earn from qualifying Amazon purchases.
Corrections
If a price, specification, image, or product match appears wrong, email support@myvaluenest.ca with the page URL and the issue. We will check the source data and correct verified errors.
